ADSL is our standard broadband service for residential customers. It connects your home to our network via a copper connection to your house. From there, we connect you to the internet using our extensive international network.
We have two ADSL Broadband packages:
1. ADSL Broadband and Home Phone
With this package you'll get a landline and a phone number as well as your broadband. The landline connects you to the public phone network so you can make local, national, international and mobile calls from your home phone.
2. Naked ADSL Broadband
This is broadband only. You don't get a landline or phone number.
Our ADSL Broadband services are available in almost all areas of New Zealand. So if there are copper phone lines running in your area, there's a good chance we may offer broadband as well.
This package comes with a landline. Local calls are free.
Monthly data allowance
|Unlimited Data||$104.99 /month|
Broadband without the landline.
Monthly data allowance
|Unlimited Data||$94.99 /month|
Both options also come with:

3. Email - Free premium email service
4. 24/7 Help and Support - over the phone and online, including a live webchat service
5. Lots more benefits for Spark customers including Spark Thanks and Free Public WiFi - see spark.co.nz/getmore for details
On an Unlimited Data plan with a 24 month contract you will also get 12 months Standard Netflix on us. See Terms and Conditions for info and terms.
If you exceed your monthly allowance you will be charged in data blocks of 5GB each at $5 up to a maximum of $50 at which point you will receive no extra data charges until your next billing cycle.
Find out more about additional data charges.
Note that customers on an Unlimited Data plan don't need to worry about reaching their monthly data cap.
Setup charges differ depending on the contract option you choose. There are four options:
1. You'll get a free standard connection and a modem on a 24 month contract.
2. You'll get a free standard connection and a modem on a 12 month contract.
3. You'll get a free standard connection on a 6 month contract, but you'll need to supply your own modem.
4. Take an Open Term contract and pay a $99 connection fee (you can either bring your own modem, or buy one from us for $99). The copper connection to your house must be in place. If a new connection is required there may also be an Access connection charge.
Note that a modem postage and handling fee of $14.95 applies to all new modems supplied.
You have four contract options:
1. Open term (you can cancel the service at any time)
2. 6 month contract
3. 12 month contract
4. 24 month contract
If you're on a 24 month contract or a 12 month contract, you'll need to pay a fee of $199 if you cancel the contract early.
If you're on a 6 month contract, you'll need to pay a fee of $99 if you cancel the contract early.
There's no cancellation fee if you take the open term contract.
If you want to cancel your broadband service, you'll need to give us 30 days notice.
To get Naked ADSL you will also need to receive your monthly bill online.
We don't place any artificial speed restrictions on our broadband plans, unless you have selected the 'Slow down your connection' if you reach your monthly data cap option. This means that you will receive the best speed we can provide at any point in time. In the future we may have to amend this policy to ensure we continue to provide our customers the best possible experience on our network. If we make any changes to this policy which will have a material impact on you we will let you know.
We don't run a Fair Use Policy on any of our ADSL Broadband plans.
ADSL Broadband: As ADSL runs over a standard phone line it doesn't have adverse effects on other services in your home, like a monitored alarm, SKY TV or a fax machine. We always recommend checking with the provider of any existing services like these to make sure they will operate with this service. Also be aware that in the event of a power outage, your phone line will continue to work as normal (so long as your home phone does not require power), but broadband will not.
Naked ADSL Broadband: Naked broadband means you will lose your landline. If you have a monitored alarm, medical alarm, fax, or order pay per view movies, these services will no longer work without a landline. If you need those services, Naked broadband is not for you.
Our ADSL packages also come with a landline. Your local calls are free. We do charge for national, international and mobile calls, but have a range of calling plans to suit most people.
As Naked ADSL doesn't have a landline there are no additional calling charges.
In some cases you might need to pay a $199 broadband wiring fee. Typically, this happens if your connection is brand new, your line has been disconnected for some time, you're using more than 5 jackpoints in your house, or you have a monitored alarm.
See Broadband terms and conditions on our website for more details on this.
